Serving Hope This Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, our volunteers came together to prepare and serve dinner at Project Renewal, PADV Fulton, and PADV Gwinnett. Each meal was made with love and care—featuring baked turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, mac & cheese, green beans, stuffing, cornbread muffins, and apple crisp for dessert.

The joy and gratitude shared by the women and children reminded us that hope can be served just as powerfully as a warm meal. We’re so thankful for another year of partnership and for the opportunity to continue proving that one act of kindness can live in a community forever. 💜

Our longtime partner, Lanterns Way, generously provided beautifully curated gift bags for all our guests:

For the women:

  • Cozy plush blankets for warmth and comfort

Project Renewal

Inspiring Hope Through Story and Song

We kicked off our Project Renewal Thanksgiving event with an inspiring message from author, Joy Mullins, who shared her powerful story of overcoming domestic violence and finding healing through faith and resilience. Her words reminded everyone that hope and strength can rise from even the hardest seasons. Joy also gifted each woman with a special token of encouragement to carry forward.

Adding to the celebration Christian rapper, 1ne Chance returned with an uplifting performance that filled the room with joy and energy. His music had everyone waving their hands in the air, singing along, and embracing the spirit of gratitude and renewal that defines the season.

Moments like these remind us that one act of kindness can live in a community forever—spreading hope, strength, and connection

PADV Gwinnett

Joy & Healing at PADV Gwinnett

Next, we had the honor of hosting the Thanksgiving celebration at PADV Gwinnett. The women and children enjoyed a warm, home-cooked meal while Christian rapper 1ne Chance filled the room with energy, encouragement, and joy. As you can hear in the video above, the entire room joined in—chanting, clapping, and waving their hands in the air.

We were also grateful to have Brittany Douglas from Lantern’s Way join us. Brittany shared the heartfelt story behind their organization, why their work matters, and how they pour compassion into every care package they create. She also took thoughtful questions and comments from the group, helping the women feel seen, understood, and supported.

After the performance and discussion, MSF’s Executive Director, Shannon Singleton, opened the floor for more reflections. Shannon shared:

“It warmed my heart to see the joy flowing throughout the room. I was especially touched when an eight-year-old boy asked what he could do to help, and when one of the women shared that once she’s back on her feet, she wants to support others who’ve gone through the same thing she has. When I hear comments like that, I know MSF is making a lasting impact!”

PADV Fulton

Ending With Impact: PADV Fulton’s Thanksgiving Celebration

We closed out our Thanksgiving program with a heartfelt visit to PADV Fulton, where the women and children gathered for a joyful afternoon of food, gifts, and uplifting music. Christian rapper 1ne Chance performed once again, and his message resonated so deeply that the group asked him to perform additional songs—filling the room with encouragement, hope, and connection.

Throughout the event, many of the women expressed their gratitude for the meal, the gifts, and the time shared together. One woman asked us to “please thank everyone who gave us gifts,” sharing how much it meant that people she had never met would take time to show her family love and support.

Moments like these remind us of the power of compassion. One gift can lift a spirit. One act of kindness can spark hope. And together, these moments create a lasting impact that stays with a community long after the holiday season is over. Through every shared meal, every thoughtful gift, and every encouraging word, these acts of kindness nourished more than just bodies—they uplifted spirits, reminded families of their worth, and filled hearts with a hope that continues to live in our communities long after Thanksgiving ends.
